3rd of july base

Executive Summary
The 3 July Marine Base project, completed in 2019 in Matrouh Governorate, Egypt, was developed for the Egyptian Navy. This strategic facility enhances naval capabilities and operational readiness along the Mediterranean coast.

Project Description
The marine base features a 1,000-meter quay wall constructed using gravity blocks, with a draught of 17.5 meters. The project involved significant concrete and steel works, marine works, and piling, along with breakwaters and soil improvement. Covering an area of 1,100 hectares, the base includes an 80,000 square meter built-up area, supported by extensive utility installations.
Client Challenge
The Egyptian Navy required a robust and durable marine base to accommodate naval operations and logistics. The challenge was to ensure timely delivery while managing the large-scale use of materials, including 2,000 tons of steel and an average daily rock supply of 15,000 tons, within the project’s tight specifications and deadlines.
