Executive Summary
In 2021, the Suez Canal Economic Authority commissioned a strategic port development project in Arish, Egypt, to support maritime trade and regional economic growth. Covering 267 hectares with a built-up area of 32,074 m², the project introduced modern quay walls, breakwaters, utilities, and infrastructure, transforming Arish into a key logistics hub in North Sinai.
Project Description
Key project elements included:
Gravity block quay wall (915 m)
Breakwaters with tetrapod armor protection
Fencing, utilities, infrastructure, and pavements
Extensive concrete, steel, marine works, soil improvement, and building construction
Breakwater removal as part of the site development works
Daily capacity: 500 m³ concrete production and 3,000 tons rock supply
21,000 LM piles executed to reinforce soil and structures
Equipment included a 450-ton gantry crane, specialized marine equipment,
and an on-site concrete station to ensure continuous productivity.
