SouthMed Project
Executive Summary
In 2025, the South Med Breakwater Project was executed on the North Coast of Egypt for Talaat Moustafa Group. The project focused on coastal protection through the construction of submerged and emerged breakwaters, forming a critical element in safeguarding shoreline developments and enhancing coastal stability. The works bridged the gap between design intent and on-site execution through clear and well-defined construction procedures.
Project Description
The project scope included large-scale marine construction works, highlighted by the following key elements:
Submerged Breakwaters:
Total length: 4,300 m
Emerged Breakwaters:
Total length: 1,000 m
Major Quantities Executed:
Rock works: 3.6 million m³
Concrete works: 600,000 m³
Implementation of structured work procedures to ensure full alignment between design requirements
Client Challenge
The project required precise coordination between design and construction to deliver effective coastal protection structures under challenging marine conditions. Managing large quantities of rock and concrete while ensuring accuracy in breakwater geometry and performance demanded strict process control and high execution standards.
